Towing in Hamilton
Whatever stopped you,
there’s a truck for it.
Tell the operator where the vehicle is, what it is, and where it’s going. They’ll confirm the truck your vehicle needs.

Car won’t move?
From a driveway, a parking lot or the side of the road to your mechanic, a dealership or home. Give the operator your pickup location and destination. You’ll get a price before the truck rolls.
Need a flatbed?
All-wheel drive, electric, lowered, or just won’t roll? Tell the operator what you’re driving and ask about a flatbed. They’ll confirm the equipment your vehicle needs before dispatch.
After a collision
If anyone is hurt or in immediate danger, call 911 first. Once safe, give the operator your location and say whether the vehicle rolls, blocks a lane or is leaking. Unless police have ordered the tow or another authorized official directs it, you choose the operator and destination, subject to restricted-tow-zone rules.
Roadside assistance in Hamilton
Dead battery, locked out,
or a flat?
Not every breakdown needs a tow. Call with your location and your vehicle, and the operator will tell you what they can fix on the spot and what it costs, before anyone heads out.
Car won’t start?
Stuck in your driveway, at work or in a parking lot? Ask for a boost. Tell the operator the make, model and symptoms, clicking, nothing at all or dash lights only, so they can tell you whether you need a boost or a tow.
Keys locked inside?
Call for a lockout and give the operator your make, model and location. Have your ID and registration handy. They need to check that you own the vehicle or have permission to access it before they open it.
Flat tire?
Tell the operator if you have a usable spare and a wheel lock key, and they’ll put it on at the roadside. No spare, or a bent rim? They’ll quote a short tow to a tire shop instead.
One number for towing and roadside help.
Describe the problem, get a price and an arrival estimate, then decide. Calling doesn’t commit you to anything.

Your rights under Ontario law
Your agreed towing price is protected.
Ontario sets certification, consent and payment rules for towing. Here are the protections to know:
The operator quotes your tow on the call, before dispatch.
Full details at ontario.ca: your towing rights and operator requirements.
- Tow operators and drivers need provincial certificates. The operator’s name and certificate number must appear on the truck, and you can ask to see the driver’s certificate.
- Operators must file their maximum rates with Ontario and show you the rate schedule before you consent to a tow.
- They cannot exceed their published maximum rates or charge more than the amount agreed for the service.
- Unless police have ordered the tow or another authorized official has initiated it, your consent is required. You choose the operator and destination, except where restricted-tow-zone rules apply.
- Operators must accept commonly used credit cards, debit cards and cash.
What happens when you call
One call. Price, truck and arrival estimate sorted.
Tell the operator where you are
Address, nearest intersection, or the highway and the last exit you passed. A landmark works too: Lime Ridge, the Skyway, the airport.
Say what you drive and what happened
Make and model, whether it rolls, and where it needs to go. That helps the operator choose the equipment your vehicle needs.
Get a price and estimate, then decide
The operator confirms availability, quotes the job and gives you an arrival estimate. Say yes and the truck is dispatched. Say no and that’s the end of it.
